Kick off your season with some group workouts! Get your winter base miles in, at your own distance and your own pace. When: Every Saturday, 9 AM. Where: Forest Park, Leif Erikson, starting at the Thurman Gate. Forest park tends to be a little drier and less windy during those messy January runs. There are a choice of routes. Many athletes prefer to run on Leif Erikson because it is a simple out-and-back route, you can run at your own pace, and there are nice mile markers. This is better for beginners and those who want a steady tempo run. As an alternative, some club members have more recently been running off the beaten path, on some of the hilly, muddy, twisty trails. This is a good workout if you are comfortable with tricky footing, some steeper terrain, and a little more challenging running. To get to the Thurman Gate on Leif Erikson, take NW Thurman Ave West all the way to the end and park on the side of the road. Maps and routes are available on the Links Page under Bike/Run Routes.
