Jon is a founding member, former president and current treasurer of the club. Besides having tree trunk thighs and a great attitude, Jon has helped introduce many athletes to the sport.
Becky Hillary
President Becky is a yogi scientist iron athlete and new mom. From newbie coffee hour to 140.6 Lake Placid to baby Sebastian…leading us into 2012…
Margaret Heald
Margaret completes the triumvirate of club officers. As club secretary she keep in touch with USAT, the state, IRS, and various other administrative entities. Margaret also lends her considerable professional design expertise to our collateral and brochures to give us a classy image. Basically, she gets STUFF done…
Brian Hain
Brian is new to town and has injected some serious energy into the club. Swim on Tuesday and Thursday if you dare!!
Wyatt Hermanson
Wyatt directs the Race Team into its 3 rd season with calm intensity. However, expect great things in 2012 as we prepare for Wildflower, CDA, Rev3, Canada, and more!
Cindy Thompson
Cindy Thompson is the Membership Coordinator for the Portland Triathlon Club and is excited to work with our members, both new and existing. She joined January 2011 and participated in her first sprint distance triathlons later that summer and fall. Cindy is training for Olympic and Half-Iron distances for the 2012 season. In addition, she is vegan and has a great interest in the nutritional aspects of endurance sports. You can follow her blog, Cindy T is for Triathlon, about her introduction and continued experiences in triathlon, adventure racing, and vegan nutrition.
Carolyn Sykes
Carolyn Sykes has been a runner since childhood and just finished her 3rd season of triathlons. She capped off last season at the full Vineman 140.6 and looks forward to more adventures with the club! Carolyn is currently training for the Boston Marathon this April. She is a teacher and loves to get kids motivated about running and exercise in her free time. Let her know if you like to run uphill!
Zach Wiens
This is only Zach’s second season involved in triathlons but has jumped in head first competing in 10 triathlons in the 2011 season ranging from sprint to HIM distances. He will be competing in Wildflower Half and CdA Ironman in 2012. Zach leads the Sunday long runs and has a lot of energy on recruiting new members and making sure everyone feels welcome. Zach works for a local Fire Department and when he is not training or working (which isn’t real often) he also enjoys skiing, hiking and camping.
